Copy when you can; transcode when you need to
Stream copy keeps the selected audio codec intact and avoids re-encoding. MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC and FLAC are explicit transcoding choices.
Inspect audio tracks, choose the intended stream and decode it to PCM WAV locally.

Files can contain commentary, alternate languages or multiple mixes. The tool inspects all audio streams first and requires an explicit track selection instead of silently hard-coding the first stream.
PCM WAV is much larger than compressed outputs but is convenient for editors and downstream speech tooling.
